Walt Disney World Resort is home to two
water parks; Blizzard Beach, and Typhoon Lagoon.
Opened in 1989, Typhoon Lagoon’s theme is that a
large tidal wave has just recently blown across the island,
and its signature icon, is a large boat balancing on-top of
a mountain above the massive wave pool.
Listen carefully the boats horn blows every hour!
Along the massive wave pool is a beautiful sun
filled beach for both sun tanning and relaxing, as well as
letting the little ones make something in the sand.
The theme park is known for its
abundance of water slides throughout the park.
With over 10 water slides it is considered one of the
most adventurous and action packed water park in the
country. One of
Typhoon Lagoon’s main features is its lazy river, which is
one of the longest man powered continuous flowing river in
the world. One
of the parks greatest achievements is their shark pool,
where you can freely swim with sharks over a man made reef!
Typhoon Lagoon is full of special
events; these include large surfing days in the wave pool to
birthday days, where families can rent parts of the beach to
their own designated party areas.
The park also offers surfing lessons in the hazard
free wave pool!
